"Tubbataha Atolls"

At Tubbataha Atolls, a Unesco World Heritage site in the middle of the Sulu Sea, huge schools of fish surround a pristine reef covered in candy colored  soft corals.   This 88 megapixel image was captured in 35 individual frames resulting in exceptional resolution.  Even in print sizes over 120 inches, extreme details, from tiny colorful reef fish in the foreground to reef sharks and schooling "Big Eye" jacks in the distance. 

Jim Hellemn has made a career out of inventing ways to capture the spectacular colors and details of coral reefs. His images have appeared in National Geographic magazine, the American Museum of Natural History and are featured in several large-scale public attractions.
