"Curiosity"

On Santa Barbara Island, a young California Sea Lion stops in my path to check me out. At least I thought he was interested in me.  As it turns out, he was more interested in his own reflection in the large dome of my camera lens. 

Jim Hellemn has made a career out of inventing ways to capture the spectacular colors and details of coral reefs. His images have appeared in National Geographic magazine, the American Museum of Natural History and are featured in several large-scale public attractions.
