Chuck Nicklin - Underwater Photography

Chuck Nicklin is an Emmy Award winning underwater cinematographer and photographer who lives and works in San Diego, California. He is truly one of the pioneers of underwater cinematography with over fifty years of underwater work to his credit, including numerous feature films and documentaries. Many of the images in Chuck's library were photographed in the 60s and 70s, during the developmental years of scuba diving. He co-founded The Diving Locker in San Diego in 1959, which has been instrumental in the education and training of sport divers for four decades.
Together with Ron Church, Chuck started the Underwater Photographic Society in The Diving Locker's back room. Chuck's cinematography credits include The Abyss, The Deep, Never Say Never, For Your Eyes Only, Love Is Forever, The Abyss and In the Company of Whales. He is still active in diving and filming, and travels to exciting destinations around the world.
